RON WILLARD, II HONORED WITH COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD

Smith Mountain Lake, VA (January 15, 2004) – The Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce/Partnership Annual Awards Banquet, held on January 15, 2004 at The Waterfront Country Club, presented Ron Willard, II with the “Norma Jean Teass Community Leadership” award.

According to Vicki Gardner, Executive Director of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce/Partnership, “The Norma Jean Teass Community Leadership award is given to an individual, either independent or associated with a member business, who has exhibited strong involvement with the chamber and a high degree of community interaction. This individual has displayed a significant involvement in the betterment of the Smith Mountain Lake area, by exhibiting the highest levels of honesty and integrity in all of their community activities. This person consistently shows selfless initiative and motivation above and beyond the standard.” Ron Willard, II was honored for spending untold hours as a member of the Shoreline Management Plan committee, implementing computer systems and software upgrades, adding additional chamber staff resources, and growing the chamber membership from 400 to more than 500 active members.
