The Willard Companies

The Willard Companies is the umbrella for Willard Construction of Roanoke Valley, Inc., Prudential Waterfront Properties, and The Waterfront, The Water’s Edge, The Boardwalk, The Westlake Golf & Country Club, and The Westlake Cinema. The companies are involved in building, developing, marketing and managing country clubs. The Company is also affiliated with Smith Mountain Building Supply, LLC. Nearly 250 people are employed by The Willard Companies.

Our President

The company's president, Ronald L. Willard, started his construction company in 1973 and his Smith Mountain Lake development career during 1976 when he formed The Waterfront. This 750-acre country club community is the lake's largest residential development and the site of the lake's first golf course. Then in 1985 he purchased land for the The Water's Edge community and began the development of the lake's premier golf community and country club.

Ronald L. Willard grew up in the area and has spent much of his time trying to give back to the community and it's residents. Donating his time and money to many philantropic events around the area. He prides himself in going the extra mile for the residents of his communities and his employees.
